Adventures, Part 5

While in Seattle, I stayed in a neighborhood called Ballard.

The main street of the neighborhood has a little park with very unique sculptures :)

There is a Japanese Tea House on the walk from main street to the house I was at. These paper lanterns are scattered throughout the trees and they look amazing during twilight!

The Ballard Locks. There is a lake inside Seattle and a canal that leads from Puget Sound to the lake. The lake is higher than sea level, so boats are put in a section of the canal, water is added until the boat is the right level and then the boat moves into the lake (and the opposite on the way out). This is a barge the size of a football field carrying gravel.
Giant metal wave sculptures at the Ballard Locks.
There is a park called Golden Gardens two blocks from the house I was at. Beautiful views of the Sound and the Olympic mountain range!
Thanks! Stay tuned for more :)
